Access Statement 2006

Parc Howard Museum & Art Gallery

Parc Howard Museum and Art Gallery is housed in the former home of the Buckley family within a public park. It is a listed building.

Access at present is far from ideal.
It is not suitable for wheelchairs

Plans are currently being drawn up to allow reasonable physical access to and within the building.

How to find us

  • 1 mile north of Llanelli Town centre on the A476
  • Bus services 128 165 (from Llanelli Bus Station)


  • Staff trained in disability awareness
  • Accessible parking is available for blue badge holders only near the band stand but drivers must obey the 10mph rule within the park
  • The park has an extensive metalled footpath system
  • The museum is accessed by three, comparatively steep steps
  • Assistance dogs welcome. Drinking water for dogs is available on request at reception
  • Induction loop at reception
  • Seating in most galleries
  • Some of the galleries have low light levels
  • Accessible toilet

Future development

  • Provide a ramped access to the building
  • To make all galleries accessible
  • To provide a lift between the ground floor and first floor galleries
  • To provide large print information following the re-display of the galleries.
